Dauphin Island will be hosting its inaugural Sunset Cruise Car Show Saturday, June 7! Dauphin Island Mayor Jeff Collier and Charlie Lyons stopped by Studio 10 to tell Cherish Lombard about the show. It’s for all of you car owners who want to show off your ride, and for all of you who just enjoy looking at beautiful cars! The Sunset Cruise Car Show will be set up at the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo site at 531 Lemoyne Drive. There will be a parade and judging from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m, and a Swap Meet from sunup until sundown at Green Park. Prizes will be given to winning cars at 5:00 p.m.
If you have a car you would like to enter in the show, you can register on the day of the event between 9:00 and 11:00am at the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo Site for $35. Registration fees can be paid with cash, cashier’s check, money order, debit card or credit card. There is a $5 fee for payments made with a debit or credit card. Each registered entrant receives a free raffle ticket and a beach bag.
In addition to the cars and prizes, all participants and spectators will be able to enjoy a live concert starting around 5:00pm. There will also be several DJ booths playing music throughout the day at various locations. The West End Beach is open and features air conditioned restrooms, a waterslide, chairs and umbrella rentals, sno-cone vendors and certified lifeguards on duty. The beach is open from 10:00am to 6:00pm seven days a week. Parking is $2 and there is a $3 admission fee for each person over the age of 12.
