Apple’s WWDC Starts Today

Apple’s 25th Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off today. There’s more anticipation than usual this year because Apple has promised us new products. The annual conference is the time the company usually announces software updates. A total redesign of the Mac’s software is expected and IOS 8, the new version of the operating system for iPhones and iPads. Just don’t plan on getting a glimpse of a new iPhone. Apple isn’t expected to show off its next smart phone until August.

It’s official, Apple has announced it will be buying popular high-end headphone company, Beats, for three billion dollars. Apple will be buying Beats Music and Beats Electronics and the company’s co-founders, recording mogul Jimmy Iovine and rapper Doctor Dre, will join Apple. Apple officials say the major deal will be finalized later this year.

And, Forbes is reporting that Microsoft is close to releasing a smart watch that measures your heart rate and connects to your phone, whether it’s Android, Apple or Windows. Until now, wearables has been dominated by Samsung and Apple.
