MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – FOX10 News is closely following the progress of some city streets damaged by last month’s torrential downpours.
On Wednesday, FOX10 News surveyed Girby Road in West Mobile, McGregor Avenue off Dauphin and Driftwood Drive North off Dauphin Island Parkway – three areas that are still closed to through traffic since last month’s rain.
FOX10 News repeatedly reached out to the City of Mobile on Wednesday regarding the status of the roads, but did not receive an answer.
One resident off Driftwood Drive North told FOX10 News she has to take a detour to get to her home by one of two possible roads. FOX10 News timed the alternate routes on Wednesday – one was 6 minutes, 29 seconds and the other was 7 minutes long. The resident told FOX10 News this could pose a threat to someone if they need medical help in an emergency.
FOX10 News will continue to monitor the repairs for you.
