Man arrested, charges to Include FedEx truck theft

Today, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Benjamin James Flanagan, 25, of 291 Black Creek Boulevard. Around 2:15, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary of a home when a second call came in that a FedEx truck was stolen in the same area.

A homeowner off Black Creek Boulevard notified the Sheriff’s Office when she caught Flanigan in her home and he ran out the back door.

Flanigan then proceeded to the neighbor’s house next door. At that time, the neighbor and FedEx driver witnessed Flanigan get into the FedEx truck and drive off. Flanigan ran over a gated fence, causing damage to the truck.

Deputies located Flanigan in the truck off Highway 3280 where he was taken into custody. Flanigan was cleared medically at the scene and transported to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Jail.

Flanigan is charged with armed burglary, grand theft auto and criminal mischief.

In addition, Flanigan is charged for failure to appear for possession of cannabis less than 20 grams and possession of paraphernalia as well as charges for a Okaloosa County warrant.
