MPD: 2 More Spice Arrests

Mobile Police arrested 2 people after undercover agents say they were able to buy spice-synthetic poison at D&D One Stop Shop on Halls Mill Road.

They arrested Desha Matthews and Frederick Howard, charging both of them with trafficking. Howard, the owner of the business, was also charged with distributing and possessing an altered firearm.

Mobile Police Captain John Barber said, “When we have licensed businesses selling narcotics in our community, this is our second one in about 3 weeks that we’ve already addressed, we know there are other businesses out there”.

“We know the violence that’s associated with this, the sale of illegal narcotics. We talked about the 3 shooting and homicides we talked about in the last week. We believe it is somewhat related to it,” he said.
