MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – It’s been one week since Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson walked out of a city council meeting. He said he was tired of political bickering getting in the way of progress.

Tuesday, May 20, we could learn if the city council and the mayor have settled their differences.

The mayor walked out after three city council members abstained from votes. The votes included two appointments to city boards and one for decorative street sign posts.

The council members were Fred Richardson, Levon Manzie and C.J. Smalls.

Richardson said he will re-nominate former Mayor Sam Jones to the Mobile Area Sewer and Water Board. He failed to get the five votes needed last time. Richardson said he is being treated unfairly by fellow council members.

FOX10 News is covering the council meeting today and will have details on FOX10 News at 4 p.m.
