The Hangout Music Festival opened Friday, May 16, to big crowds in Gulf Shores.
Those big crowds had to make their way through traffic, and find parking places.
Traffic was backed up about six blocks around 11:45 Friday morning on Highway 59 leading into the Hangout Festival.
The closer you got to the festival, the more congested it was.
One person trying to find out a parking spot a few blocks away from the entrance summed up the feelings of many people.
When asked about the traffic, he said, “How bad is the traffic? It’s awful. We’ll be walking tomorrow.”
You could also find a number of people with signs saying they were looking to buy tickets.
It’s the first day of the Hangout Music Festival.
Actually, on Thursday night, the Hangout Fest Kickoff Party took place.
Festival-goers were partying since 4 p.m. Thursday, and many will get back up Friday to enjoy the first day of the show.
Tents have long been set up for the festival and other last minute details are taking place.
FOX10 News Reporter Steve Alexander is covering the festival in the morning before it opens and will have a report on FOX10 News at 4 p.m.
