SATSUMA, Ala. (WALA) – The Satsuma Police Department is looking for a husband and wife who they believe are responsible for theft of property from a business.
Officials said Cleo Henderson was working for a trucking company that had been contracted out by Alter’s Scrap Yard to transport the company’s scrap metal. They said the weight of the truck that Henderson was transporting was always lighter when it reached its final destination than when it was originally loaded.
Authorities said on two seperate occasions the company truck was seen at the Pilot truck stop in Satsuma offloading the scrap metals into a pickup truck.
The investigation revealed Crystal Henderson, the wife of Cleo, would meet him and offload the company truck. Police said she would then take the stolen metals to a scrap yard.
The weight loss was valued at $9,000.
Warrants have been issued for both suspects for first degree theft of property. If anyone has information on the location of the two suspects, or information about this case, they are asked to contact the Satsuma Police Department at (251) 675-0151.
