Local man wins $1M


TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Lottery announces that John Kyles, 56, of Pensacola, claimed a $1 million top prize in the 50X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. He chose to receive his winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $711,505.77.

Kyles purchased his winning ticket from Tom Thumb, located on Mobile Highway in Pensacola. The retailer received a bonus commission of $2,000 for selling the $1 million winning ticket.

The $10 game, 50X THE CASH, offers more than $164 million in cash prizes, including 16 top prizes of $1 million. Nine top prizes remain. The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-3.46.
