Residents who live on Setter Road in Mobile were shocked when a man was shot and killed in their neighborhood Sunday afternoon, May 11, 2014.
Authorities say 20-year-old Zachary Scott Alston was shot in the head while sitting in a parked vehicle in the Quali Run sub-division in Theodore shortly before 4 p.m.
Janet Sullivan is with the Quail Run Community Action group. She says neighbors are concerned about crime in the neighborhood and have even started their own neighborhood watch program, but she says they never expected this kind of violence in their community.
“It’s a good, quiet neighborhood. For something like this to happen, it’s very devastating to us,” said Sullivan.
Mobile Police Homicide Detectives are investigating the case. Anyone with information should contact Mobile Police Intel at (251) 208-7000 or text to CRIMES (274637) and include the keyword CRIME 411.
