Not one, but three commencement ceremonies are scheduled for one college and two universities in the Mobile area Saturday.
At 10:00 a.m. this morning, graduation exercises began for seniors at the University of Mobile. The event is being held at the Mobile Civic Center. University officials say the educational institution will award degrees to approximately 330 candidates for graduation during its commencement exercise.
Also at 10:00 a.m. this morning,Spring Hill College begin its commencement exercise. Because of the rainy weather, Spring Hill moved its graduation ceremony from the famous Avenue of the Oaks to the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center building on campus.
At 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Center, the University of South Alabama will hand diplomas out to 1,391 graduates this year. USA officials say that brings the total number of degrees awarded to 78,003 throughout the University’s history. Jean Botti, Airbus Group’s chief technical and innovation officer, will address graduates at the afternoon ceremony.
