Southern Napa wine store in Daphne will hold the second annual 99 Bottles of Beer on the Lawn craft beer festival May 9-10, 2014. The event will be on the lawn at Southern Napa, 2304 Main Street in Olde Towne Daphne.
Last year’s event drew nearly 400 beer lovers under the huge beer tent on a rainy Saturday. Organizer Jim Cox expects an even larger turnout this year. “With the ever- growing popularity of craft beers and the success we had last year, we know this year will be an even bigger event.” 99 craft beers are available to sample from local, regional and national brewers. Craft beer is usually small production beers made by independent brewers.
The weekend also features Southern Napa’s first live music. “We are adding a Friday night concert by the local supergroup Willie Sugarcapps, so now it is a whole weekend experience,” said Cox. “We have wanted to incorporate live music into Southern Napa for a long time and this is the perfect opportunity to do so.” Local musicians Brett LaGrave and Sarah Percy will also perform live during the beer festival on Saturday afternoon.
VIP ticket packages are available for both events. Also returning this year, the 5K Beer Run, which takes place at noon on Saturday prior to the beer festival.
The event is a fundraiser for the Baldwin County Humane Society who will have a pet adoption on site.
Tickets for the Willie Sugarcapps concert are $20 in advance and $25 the night of the show. A $75 VIP pass is also available for both Friday night and Saturday. Tickets for the beer festival are $30 and include a commemorative tasting glass. Entry into the Beer Run Race is $25 and includes a race shirt or $50 for combination race and beer festival ticket.
Tickets for the event are on sale online at www.southernnapa.com or by calling 251-375-2800 or visiting Southern Napa at 2304 Main Street in Daphne.
