Talker: Ordinance would limit gathering at private homes

A proposed zoning ordinance would limit “group assembly” at residences to 49 people a day, where such gatherings “shall not occur more frequently than three times in any 40-day period.” The proposed ordinance is for Fairfax County, Va., the state’s most populous county.

The reason for the proposed ban: Officials say they’ve received complaints about group meetings at homes
However, not everyone is on board with the proposal.

“I believe the county is risking a lawsuit and/or a Constitution challenge by interfering with peoples’ right to assemble,” Fairfax County Supervisor Pat Herrity said in a statement.
