MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Bel Air Mall could soon be under new ownership.
New York-based Rouse Properties is in talks to buy the mall for approximately $135 million. The company said it expects to close the deal in the fall.
Bel Air Mall is the only enclosed mall within a 60 mile radius and serves more tham 570,000 people across southern Alabama, Mississippi and the Florida panhandle.
The 1.3 million square foot mall is anchored by Dillard’s, Belk, Target, J.C. penney and Sears.
Rouse Properties owns more than 30 malls nationwide.
