Major Anthony Lowery of the Baldwin County Sheriff Department has confirmed the arrests of two men, one of them a soldier in the U.S. Army, on drug charges after $22,0000, five guns and drugs were allegedly found in their vehicle, Friday.
Investigators said Army soldier James Hudson IV of Tennessee and Lorenzo Wilson, Jr. from Texas were arrested after being stopped for a traffic violation on Interstate 10. Including the cash, deputies say they found marijuana, prescription drugs and firearms in the car.
Lowery confirmed the two suspects told investigators they were headed to Fort Hood, transporting alleged drug money from Georgia to another soldier stationed at the Texas military facility. Hudson remains in jail under a $5,000 bond.
Wilson is in the Baldwin County Detention Center under a $1,000 bond..
