Motorcyle accident claims life of a Thomasville resident

Alabama State Troopers say  a 59 year-old man was killed when his motorcycle crashed on Highway 178 near the 1.3 mile marker.

Sergeant Steve Jarrett, with the Public Information Unit/Education Unit of the Alabama Department of Public Safety, said in an email to Fox10News, James Courtney of Thomasville, Alabama was killed when his Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle left the roadway and crashed.

Sergeant Jarrett said the accident happened around 11:30 a.m. Friday morning.  Alabama State Troopers are investigating the cause of the accident.
