Tonight, friends and family are mourning the loss of a Mobile woman who lost her life in a tragic car accident this week while she was driving home from Georgia in the heavy rainstorms that swept our nation.
Brittany Huber, 25, and her fiancee, 23-year-old John Redman, were engaged to be married this weekend.
But, on their way back from Georgia to Mobile Tuesday night, April29, the couple was involved in a tragic car accident.
The driver, John Redman, lost control of the vehicle, traveled into the median, and crashed into bridge abutment on the passenger side of the vehicle.
John survived and is still recovering, but Brittany was pronounced dead on scene.
Tonight, friends and family gathered at Springhill Baptist church to honor her beautiful memory.
“I think the main word that everybody is using is just an angel. That’s the only word that just keep coming to my mind, that she was such a sweet angel, so innocent, she’s just so sweet,” said Sonya Atwood, Brittany’s cousin and bridesmaid.
Her bridesmaids even wore their bridesmaids dresses to the funeral, because they know that’s what she would have wanted.
“We all have on our bridesmaids dresses tonight to pay tribute to Brittany, she would have loved that, she loved those dresses,” said Atwood.
Brittany graduated from St. Paul’s Episcopal School in Mobile.
St. Paul’s has now set up a fine-arts scholarship fund in her memory.
