Butterscotch Blondies

1/2 cup sugar
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup chopped cashews or walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Melt butter in the microwave. Stir in sugar until blended.

Add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined.

Add dry ingredients and mix.

Stir in butterscotch chip and nuts, if desired, and spread into a greased 13×9 inch pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, then cool cool on a wire rack.

Cut into squares and serve.
