Mobile County spokesperson Nancy Johnson says the number one concern is for people to stay off the roads.
“There are so many problems. We have so many roads that are hazardous we are just telling people to stay off the roads now. We have lots of flooding throughout the county,” she told FOX10 News during a phone interview.
She said the flooding and hazardous conditions are everywhere.
“Even once the water goes down, if you can’t see the roadway, we’re saying to stay off the roads because we don’t know what this has done to the road structure itself. You know, and the pipes that go under them. We’re afraid the pipes will give out,” she said.
Johnson said they don’t know how long it will take waters to recede. They will be monitoring the situation.
