Bride to be killed in car accident, fiance injured


Family and friends are mourning after a couple crashed on their way to Mobile for what should have been one of the happiest days of their lives.

According to officials, the crash occurred around 7:15 p.m. on Monday, April 28 on I-85 southbound at mile marker 33 in Meriwether County.

Officials said the driver 23-yeare-old John Redman, from Dalton, was injured, and his passenger, the bride to be, 25-year-old Brittany Huber, was pronounced dead on scene.

Redman’s vehicle was southbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle, traveled into the median and hit a bridge abutment with the passenger side of the vehicle, according to reports. He was taken to Atlanta Medical Center with serious injuries.

Officials said the crash was not weather-related. Redman graduated from Spring hill College and is currently Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Dalton State College.
