Baldwin County EMA Director Mitchell Sims said the severe storms that began April 28 and lasted through the night April 29 have taken a toll on the roadways.
“The rain really picked up a few hours ago and we’ve now got some pretty serious flooding on almost all roads south of Highway 104. That’s the road that crosses from Fairhope through Silverhill to Robertsdale. Most of the roads south of that have some type of flooding issues,” Sims told FOX10 in a phone interview.
He stressed the dangers of driving during severe storms.
“We’ve issued a travel advisory. We’re asking people not to travel unless they have an emergency and even then use extreme caution. We do have active rescues going on at this time. ” he continued.
