West Mobile Girls Softball is holding a special tournament on Saturday, April 26, 2014.
About 450 people from 43 teams from Mississippi to Baldwin County will compete in the all day event with proceeds benefitting the Wounded Warrior project. Their goal is to raise at least $7500.
Each season they pick a cause that we think would benefit the people that live in our community. This weekend is their 3rd Wounded Warrior benefit. They realized several years ago that many of the players had family members that were in the military and some had been injured. They thought that this would be a cause that their players, parents and community could get behind and help make a success.
The Wounded Warrior Project supports members of the military that have been wounded and need additional support and as a veteran of the Desert Storm and Shield Operations.
Tickets can be purchased at the West Mobile County Park off of Leroy Stevens (Softball City). You can also donate online at woundedwarriorproject.org.
