MPD arrest homeowner, a local nurse practitioner, in shooting

MOBILE, Ala. – Mobile Police have arrested 45-year-old Joseph Booth in connection to a shooting outside his Houston Street home around 9 a.m. Sunday morning.
Authorities say Booth told them the victim, 23-year-old Antonio Crawford, and two others were trying to break into his home and he shot in self defense, but police don’t think that is the way it happened.

Joseph Booth is escorted by police after he was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a man in his home.

“We have evidence that the suspects knew each other and this was over a drug debt that was owed by booth to Crawford,” explained Officer Terence Perkins with the Mobile Police Department,.

Authorities believe Booth tampered with evidence to mislead investigators.

They arrested Booth early Monday morning and booked him on murder charges.
