If you’re looking for a job, we have you covered! There’s a Business Expo and Job Fair at the Mobile Civic Center Expo Hall Thursday, May 1st from 9:00am – 2:00pm. Terri Pringle from the South Alabama Regional Planning Commission tells Cherish Lombard South Alabama Regional Planning Commission (SARPC) is one of 12 Alabama regional councils in Alabama. SARPC serves Mobile, Baldwin and Escambia counties. The business expo and job fair is one of the services SARPC provides to the community each year.
The event is free to the public. Job seekers are able to learn about available jobs and training opportunities. They can also apply for jobs and register with the Alabama Career Center on site. Veterans and military dependents can access resources at the event. Businesses have the opportunity to showcase products and services as well as recruit and screen job applicants. Consumers not currently seeking employment have the opportunity to see products and services offered by local businesses while discovering how to expand career options through training opportunities.
Resource agencies providing services including housing, health and employment for veterans and military dependents will be on site. Many employers in our region are participating in initiatives to hire our heroes and will find veterans with great experience ready for employment. Alabama Career Center will have the mobile Career Center on site in the parking lot for those interested registering with the Career Center or applying for jobs online. Free Workshops will be offered throughout the event. Topics include Resume Development, Networking Skills, and Interviewing Skills. At the end of the workshops one-on-one consulting will be offered to those interested.
