Mobile Infirmary’s Twilight Duathlon is tomorrow beginning at 5 p.m. Participants will run 2 miles, then bike 10 , then finish up with another 2 mile run. There is also a 2 mile walk/ fun run. And an after-party will begin at 6pm with live music, food and beverages. To participate in the duathlon, it’s $35. The fun run is $25. If you just want to have fun at the after-party, it’s $10.
Market on the Square is Back! After a long winter break, you can head back down to Cathedral Square tomorrow morning to the first market on the square this spring. Fresh fruits, veggies, breads, pasta, cheese, honey, arts, crafts, plants, flowers, etc. 7:30 am to noon.
Dauphin Island Gumbo festival will be tomorrow from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. More than 20 teams will compete in two categories – seafood and freestyle- and they will be all over the island, with three locations, the water tower, the Isle of Dauphine Country Club, and the West End Shops across from Holiday Isle Condos. There will live music at each location and the sailboats competing in the Dauphin Island Race will be making their way in to the Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo stage. Gumbo cook-off will only cost you $10.
Hoot Scoot 5K – the 6th Annual Hoot Scoot 5k will begin at 6:30 pm tonight in the streets of Fairhope. Participants will wear glow on the dark T-shirts and enjoy a post race party under the stars at the Fairhope Library with live music from Ground Level Fall. Visit hootscoot5k.com for more info.
Of course, it’s Mullet Toss Weekend at the world famous Flora Bama. Throw an actual mullet from Alabama into Florida. There is the Miss Flora Bama Bikini Contest, The Mr. Mullet Hot Body contest, mullet fish fry, live music and if you want something heavier than a mullet to toss, there’s even a keg toss.
