The Dearborn YMCA is hosting its annual Heritage weekend. There are lots of fun activities you can be part of from a cooking competition to a kids expo. This morning Raymond Bell and Jacquittta Powell Green stopped by our studio to talk about the events.
Heritage Weekend is a celebration put on by the Dearborn YMCA to promote the professionals in the healthcare community, healthy living, healthy eating and excercising.
It’s going to be kicked off Thursday, April 24th with a brunch at 11:30am. At least 10 health professionals will be at the brunch, and they will be recognized for their contributions to healthy living in Mobile.
On Friday, there will be a Heritage Taste competition. It’s a cook-off with multiple chefs who will prepare healthy meals for people in attendance to taste. This is an adults-only event. There will be a wine bar and live music.
ON Saturday, there will be the healthy walk. Members from the community and some school children will be walking to promote healthy living, showing that excercising can be done every day. This is a free event.
Tickets are still available for all events. Contact Dearborn YMCA at 251-432-4768 for more information about tickets.
