Former Bama players suit up for non-profit


TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WALA)- On April 19, 2014, TAP (Together Assisting People) held its 3rd annual Chris Rogers’ Paintball Tournament. TAP is a non-profit organization with a mission to prepare athletes to succeed in life outside of athletics.

The tournament was held immediately following Saturday’s A-Day game at Central High School in Tuscaloosa.

The teams were comprised of three players each and featured current NFL stars, Buffalo Bill Pro-Bowler Marcell Dareus and Carolina Panther Robert Lester. dareus rogers

NFL Safety and TAP’s Coach Saban Spirit Award winner, Robert Lester, said he wanted to continue his charitable efforts before NFL OTA camps begin on Monday, April 21.

“I wanted to support a great cause and give back to the community, especially with my busy schedule, it’s important that I get out here and show my face, to show that I support this movement,” Lester said.

The event winners were, third time champion team Game heads, second place went to team Academy and in third place was team Bama Cups.
