Suspect wanted in Gulf Shores shooting


GSPD Detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information on the whereabouts of a man who they say shot an 18-year-old Spanish Fort man in Gulf Shores.

On April 16, 2014, at 10:06 p.m., Gulf Shores Police patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the area of the board walk at the Public Beach and East Gulf Place. When the officers arrived, they found Tommie Cortez Jackson, an 18-year-old Spanish Fort resident, suffering from a gunshot wound to the forearm.  Gulf Shores Fire & Emergency Services responded and transported Jackson to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center and was treated for his injuries and later released.

During a thorough investigation, Gulf Shores Detectives have identified the shooter as Jermaine Trevel Cungious, an 18-year-old resident of Bay Minette.  He stands at 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 140 lbs. Detectives have obtained a warrant on Cungious for Assault in the second degree (Title 13A-6-21(a)(2), a Class C felony. Authorities say Cungious as he is considered to be armed and dangerous.
