Spanish Fort High football player shot in forearm, suspect still on the loose

GULF SHORES, Ala. (WALA) – The Gulf Shores Police Department has identified an overnight shooting victim as 18-year-old Tommie Cortez Jackson of Spanish Fort.

Officials said he was shot Wednesday, April 16 in the forearm on the public beach. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was released Thursday morning.

No arrests have been made at this time. Authorities said the suspect was described as a 16 to 18-year-old male wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.

Police said they are looking at the suspect as a person of interest.
