AAA: Local gas stations blamed for price increase

Many across the Gulf Coast are feeling pain at the pump.

The price of a gallon of gas has jumped more than 30 cents in the last month according to AAA, and experts say there is no clear reason for the hike.

A spokesman for AAA tells FOX10 News, oil prices remain sensitive on escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine but believe that situation only accounts for a small increase.

Instead officials believe the drastic hike in gas prices is actually the result of local stations increasing them on their own.

Officials are encouraging the public to do a little more price shopping in an effort to drive down prices.

Baldwin County prices are even more outrageous according to www.gasbuddy.com
