MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The woman charged with the murder of her Army sergeant husband will remain in jail, despite a second attempt from her attorney to get her out on bond.
Eugenia Campbell is one of two defendants accused in the 2011 killing of Remano Campbell. The other suspect is Alexander Williams.
Prosecutors say insurance money was the motive behindd the murder.
Campbell’s attorney on Wednesday, April 9 asked a judge to recondiser his no bond offer. The judge said no, and the family is relieved.
“We don’t want anyone walking who is suspected to be a murderer, so we feel good about that. Take our hats off to the system,” said Patrick Zine, Remano’s brother.
Eugenia Campbell’s preliminary hearing is set for April 24. FOX10 News will continue to follow the latest developments on this case.
