One great thing about springtime is the weather, and spring is also great because this is when a lot of the festivals happen! There’s a big art festival this weekend on Dauphin Island! Joe Sheffield tells Cherish Lombard the 12th Annual St. Francis Arts and Crafts Festival is Saturday at St. Francis Episcopal Church on Dauphin Island from 9:00am – 4:00pm.
More than 50 local and regional artists will display their work under the oak trees, on the decks and in the parish hall of the Church. There will be pottery, paintings, jewelry, photography, handmade furniture, textile and mixed media creations and more! Dauphin Island artists participating in the Festival include Margie Delcambre, Russ Voisin, Janie Zetsch, Lamona Lucas and Dena McKee. Joe Sheffield from Daphne and many more talented artisans will also exhibit and sell their work at the event.The booth fees paid by artists to participate in the festival will be donated to Wilmer Hall in Mobile to help children in need.
The ladies of the ECW will be selling Wimberly Hory’s famous chicken salad sandwiches and hot and sweet pickles, as well as the Church’s famous gumbo.
