Tough road test for 11th-ranked Jags

South Alabama Softball (29-3) is in the school record books again, this time for the team’s highest national ranking ever, at 11th, in the recent NFCA Coaches Poll. The Jags are on a current 13-game winning streak (17-game road win streak) and the best Sun Belt Conference start in school history at 7-0. The Jags have the best overall ERA in the nation.

South Alabama travels to Tuscaloosa on Wednesday for a midweek clash with the No. 4 Crimson Tide at Rhoads Stadium. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. The Tide leads the all-time series, 8-0.

South is 2-0 versus Southeastern Conference opponents this year, after defeating LSU, ranked No. 21 at the time, and Georgia, ranked 17th then. Alabama’s sweep of the Tigers last weekend saw the Tied roll to an 11-1 SEC start.
