Drunk driving victim laid to rest

GULF SHORES (WALA) – It was a somber afternoon in Flower Mound, Texas as Kasey Waychoff was laid to rest.

Hundreds attended the funeral service for the 19-year-old Oklahoma State University student who died after being struck by an allegedly drunk driver last Friday in Gulf Shores. She was in Alabama with some of her sorority sisters for spring break.

The presiding pastor described a number of highlights from Waychoff’s life from her time in Singapore with her family to her work at OSU.

Those in attendance said she will be greatly missed. He pastor said, “Her unforgettable and ever present smile lit up our world and will forever be in the hearts of all who knew her.”

The man who police said killed her is currently out on bond. Justin Lott is required to wear a GPS ankle monitor as well as an alcohol monitor bracelet.
