Google Glass is getting trendier, hoping to become more stylish with a makeover from Italy’s Luxottica, a giant in eyewear. That’s the same designer of Ray Ban and Oakley. An alliance with Italy’s Luxottica group is Google’s latest attempt to make wearable technology look less geeky. Google will tap into Luxottica’s talent and size with 5 thousand U.S. stores to help sell Glass when it hits the market as early as this year.
The digital music service Spotify is cutting prices for college students, offering them rates of five dollars a month. That’s half the regular rate. Young adults are being targeted because they’re more likely to stream music than buy CD’s or pay for better features. The offer is valid for up to 12 months and to qualify, students will need to give their name, where they’re currently enrolled, date of birth and any other documents requested.
And, you may be able to buy Apple’s iPhone 6 as early as August. There’s plenty of buzz about when the device will hit the market and what it will look like. There’s speculation the screen could be as big as 5 and a half inches. That’s an inch and a half bigger than the iPhone 5-S.
