Baker: 2014 HiQ Champions

The HiQ team from Baker High School showed why they earned a bye to Tuesday’s championship match.

Baker, the top scoring team during the regular season, faced McGill-Toolen Catholic and Davidson High Schools at the Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel.

The Baker team jumped to an early lead, and had a 13 point lead over its nearest competitor at halftime in the match.  The team built on its lead in the second half, nearly doubling its point total by the end of the match.

The final score was Baker 49, Davidson 21 and McGill-Toolen Catholic 14.

Baker will receive $2,000 from New Horizons Credit Union for winning the championship.  Davidson earned $1,500 and McGill-Toolen, $1,000.
