Baldwin Co. music competition results announced

Seven local schools received prize money totalling $32,000 following the 2014 Baldwin County Music competition.

Shawn Esfahani, owner of the Daphne dealership called the talent incredible saying, “I feel that the school children are our future and you can’t invest enough in them.”

Students and band directors from the schools appeared at Eastern Shore Toyota to be presented with trophies and award checks based on their placement in the competition. Students competed and music teachers from around the area served as judges.

The Daphne Trojans won first place in the competition and will receive $12,000 in prize money.

Winners of the competition were as follows.

  • 1ST Place $12,000 to DAPHNE HIGH SCHOOL
  • 2ND Place $7,000 to ROBERTSDALE HIGH SCHOOL
  • 3RD Place $5,000 to GULF SHORES HIGH SCHOOL
  • 4TH Place $3,000 to FAIRHOPE HIGH SCHOOL
  • 5TH Place $2,000 to FOLEY HIGH SCHOOL
  • Honorable Mention $1,000 to SPANISH FORT HIGH SCHOOL
  • Honorable Mention $1,000 to BALDWIN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL
