A 28 year-old man from Pensacola has been arrested in the death investigation of his two year-old son.
Seena Madison, with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, said in a press release Sheldon Cleavon Salter, was charged with culpable negligence as well as possession of drug equipment in their investigation into the child’s death.
Madison said the toddler died on March 1 at a home in the 1500 block of Fairfield Drive in Pensacola, Florida.
Escambia County Sheriff investigators say Salter left a loaded gun within the reach of the child making it capable of inflicting the injury that resulted in the child’s death.
Salter was arrested and booked under a $17,500.00 bond Friday night. He was released from the Escambia County Jail about five minutes later.
