A friend of  79 year-old Robert Huber tells Fox10News, Huber was admitted into the intensive care unit of Thomas Hospital Friday night.  He is in serious condition.

Chaplain Tony Dickey, president of Disaster and Victim International called to say Huber was admitted into the hospital after spending several weeks in rehab recovering from injuries suffered in an attack and robbery inside his Daphne home.

On February 25,  Daphne Police say Huber, who is a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, was attacked by two men who beat the wheelchair-bound victim, stealing his television and damaging his home.

While Huber was in rehab recovering from his injuries, volunteers from the Marine Corps League, friends and family have been renovating his home.  This Sunday, when Huber was to return home, was meant to be a big surprise for the senior citizen.  But now, that homecoming has been cancelled as family and friends pray for Huber’s recovery.

A $500 reward is being offered to anyone who has information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects.  Daphne investigators told Fox10News Reporter Andrew Perez they are working several positive leads in the case.  If you can help in the investigation, please call Daphne Police.
