Do you have paints, cleaners, pesticides and other hazardous waste around your house? If so, you you can get rid of them safely this weekend.
Saturday, March 22, 2014 you can drop off your hazardous household chemicals at Mobile County’s Hazardous Waste Disposal Event at the Grounds (formerly known as the Greater Gulf State Fairgrounds), at the intersection of Cody and Ziegler Roads. The drop-off is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. It’s a drive-through event so you don’t even need to get out of your vehicle.
Here is a list of what will be accepted:
- Household cleaners
- Automotive fluids
- Pool chemicals
Items not being accepted are: medications, explosives (flares and ammunition), appliances, tires and computers. The event is open to households only and excludes contractors and commercial outlets.
This is the second of a series of Hazardous Waste Collection Days being sponsored by Mobile County. The county will also be holding collection days in the future that will things like electronics, batteries and similar items.
