Former Mobile police captain’s appeal rejected

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) The Mobile County Personnel Board rejected the appeal of a police captain, who was demoted after allegations of sexual relations with a subordinate surfaced.

Carla Longmire, a former Police Captain with the City of Mobile Police Department was demoted to Police Lieutenant December 17, 2013 for conduct unbecoming.

“I am pleased the Personnel Board agreed with our findings,” stated Chief James Barber.  “Lieutenant Longmire was entrusted with a position of great responsibility and therefore must be held accountable.”

The order submitted by the Mobile County Personnel board specifies during the moth of September 2013, “Captain Longmire met with a subordinate (who was under her command) at her apartment during duty hours and on at least one occasion they engaged in sexual intercourse.”

Captain Longmire filed a notice of appeal December 20, 2013.
