The man police said murdered his adoptive son will be in court Friday, March 20 2014.
Mobile Police responded to Providence Hospital Tuesday, March 18 to investigate an incident involving 23-month-old Christian Henderson who later died from his injuries.
“He (John Henderson) told police and medical staff the child had fallen from a high chair. The medical examiner was able to determine today that was not how Christian got his injuries,” said Mobile Police spokesperson Ashley Rains.
Authorities said an autopsy revealed Christian died of blunt force trauma to the abdomen and the cause of death was ruled a homicide.
Many of you are shocked about the case. Herman Skipwith, a father of six, had this to say to the family.
“I’m sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what you are going through… A two year old child is innocent. Ain’t nothing he could have no fault for. We are grieving with you and keep your head up to God and know he has the last say,” said Skipwith.
Some neighbors are now learning what happened right next door to their home.
“It’s awful worst thing that can happen,” said Lynne Pearson.
FOX10 News will be at the court hearing tomorrow and will let you know what happens.
