Get dirty at mud run next weekend!

It’s fun to let your hair down and get dirty every once in a while. You can do that Saturday, March 29th at the “Y Get Dirty Mud Run!” Jody Morgan, Fitness and Personal Training Director at Snook Family YMCA and Leslie David, Fitness Director at Bounds YMCA tell Cherish Lombard the run will be at Graham Creek Nature Preserve in Foley.

The race will start at 8:00am. Runners will run through the trails of Graham Creek. There will be a lot of mud with a lot of obstacles.  There are walls to climb, tunnels to crawl through and a few surprises. There will be two courses. The 5K Fun Run is open to anyone 12 and older, and the 4.5 mile competitive course is open to anyone 16 and older. Individuals can participate, or you can form a team.

After the run, awards will be handed out at the after party. There will be live music, inflatables for the kids, and food and drinks.

The run is being held to raise money for the YMCA’s “Y campaign for Youth and Families.” Proceeds from the run will benefit youth and families for the Snook Family YMCA and the Bounds Family YMCA to use the facility and all the programs they offer, no matter what their financial status is. The YMCA offers after school care and summer camp to families to keep children safe. They offer swim lessons and sports to keep children healthy, and exercise programs for all ages.
