Spring Break savings

The official start of spring is March 20 which means Spring Break is right around the corner.

Mobile and Baldwin County Public Schools begin Spring Break the week of April 14 and if you haven’t planned anything yet don’t fret! There’s plenty to do around the Gulf Coast to keep the kids entertained for the week.

If you’re a beach bum, head to Dauphin Island, Gulf Shores or Orange Beach for the week and if you’re willing to drive a few hours, Destin and Panama City are great get away destinations.

To save on money, don’t get beach front property and pack all your food before hand to save on eating out. Bring your own bikes and of course beach toys for some fun free entertainment.

If you want to venture out for a day take advantage of tourist attractions like the Gulf Coast Zoo, Zip lining and put-putting. Before you go, search for coupons and you’re sure to save.

For another change of scenery, how about camping for a week? Blakeley State Park and Chickasabogue Park have hiking and biking trails along with some fishing.

If you want to stay around town, check out what’s happening in your area. You can find live music in downtown mobile with the Southsounds Music Festival or head concert at The Warf.

If you do plan on flying or staying in a hotel, a number of travel websites offer discounted rates including: Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, Ebookers and FareCompare.

Whatever your plans remember you can have a lot of fun for free it just might mean getting a little creative.
