A pair of Coden murder suspects were in court Tuesday, March 18 for an arraignment. Both Kymberli Lindsay and Saraya Atkins entered pleas of not guilty.

Atkins, 20, of Michigan and her alleged accomplice 25-year-old Kymberli Lindsay of Mobile, are charged in the shooting death of Robert “Bobby” Perry on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.

On Thursday, March 13, 2014, Mobile County District Attorney Ashley Rich upgraded charges from felony murder to capital murder.

According to deputies, Lindsay was inside Walmart scoping out the right target to follow when Perry and his stepdaughter stopped at a Walmart to cash a check for money to purchase a car advertised on Craigslist.

When Perry’s stepdaughter went inside, Investigators said, that is when 20-year-old Saraya Atkins of Michigan and her alleged accomplice, 25-year-old Kymberli Lindsay of Mobile, located their target.

Deputies said once Atkins and Lindsay were apprehended, they confessed they had “intentions” of robbing someone; it was just a matter of finding the right person.

Their preliminary hearing has been set for April 3 at 2:30 p.m.
