Mobile City leaders voted Tuesday, March 18, to extend the expiration date for the entertainment district downtown.
The district was adopted last year to promote the downtown area and businesses.
The ordinance is now scheduled to expire in September.
The city council said it will take the extra time to evaluate the effectiveness of the ordinance.
The council postponed a vote on an ordinance that would exempt people who offer parking around Ladd-Peebles Stadium from obtaining a business license. Leaders said the issue needed to be discussed further before it was put to a vote.
