Bike Rental Program in Downtown Mobile

The Downtown Mobile Alliance and Regions Bank want to make it easier for you to get some exercise, have fun and see downtown Mobile.

They have partnered to create a bike rental program which will be formally announced Tuesday, March 18.

Director of Downtown Economic Development Frederick Rendfrey told FOX10 News the idea came from visitors to the city.  He said, “We were often getting questions about where one could rent a bicycle”.

The bicycles will be available for rental at Urban Emporium at 260 Dauphin Street.  It’s estimated the bikes will rent for $20 for a half day. In addition to the use of a bicycle, the price includes a basket, helmet, lock and front and back lights.

To deter theft, a credit card will be required for rental.  If a bike isn’t returned, the renter will be charged the replacement cost.
