Wednesday was award night for the Spanish Fort Football program. The team received their second state championship rings in as many years. The Toros won back-to-back state titles after their undefeated 2013 season. Coaches and players gathered at a team banquet to receive their rings and year honors.
“It’s a great blessing, it’s a culmination of a lot of hard work, a lot of days of asking the kids to do a lot of things they didn’t think they could do, at the end of the day, it’s a blessing to be here,” said Head Coach Mark Freeman.
“It’s a blessing and an honor it’s pretty surreal, we bought into this program and to be able to win it last year and come back and be undefeated and win it again our senior year is definitely probably the biggest blessing for the seniors to go out as a group of guys that bonded as brothers and we’re so thankful, we give it all back to God,” said Toros’ TE, Hunter Wood.
