Murder victim remembered as family man, protector

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Family and friends of Robert “Bobby” Perry are devastated by the death of their loved one. Officials said Perry was shot to death in front of his stepdaughter along Bayou Jonas Drive in Coden.

Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said Perry and his stepdaughter were robbery targets after they cashed a check at Walmart in Tillman’s Corner Tuesday, March 11.

Kymberli Lindsay, 25, of Mobile and Saraya Atkins, 20, of Michigan, were arrested and facing two counts of felony murder and robbery.

FOX10 News is in contact with Perry’s family but the have chosen not to speak publicly at this time. They’ve appointed close family friend Dorothy Floyd to speak on behalf of the family.

“Bobby was a great man. I loved him dearly. Every time I come over, I give him a hug and kiss on the cheek,” said Floyd.

Floyd says Perry had a big family, including eight children and 14 grandchildren.

“I wish he was here now I would give him a big hug. I love his face and got a beautiful face a big smile. It tells everything when he smiles and he does that a lot,” said Floyd.
