In an exclusive interview with FOX10, police said 25-year-old Tamarcus Martin of Mobile set his family’s home on fire after arguing with his step-father.
Police said it happened around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 9, at a home on Forest Ridge Road near the intersection of Moffet Road and University Boulevard.
Police said Martin left the home after the argument, and returned moments later to start the blaze.
“He returned a short time later and actually lit fire to the residence while the victim and and several other people were inside,” said Public Information Officer Terence Perkins with Mobile Police.
Martin was arrested for Arson in the First Degree, and remains in Mobile County Metro Jail Sunday evening.
Mobile Fire-Rescue Public Information Officer Steve Huffman said some $30,000 in damage was caused to the home.
Police said no one was injured and the investigation is ongoing.
